The new Northeast Citizen Patrol is looking for volunteers and support.
The goal of the NECP is to make out neighborhood a 'hard target' for thugs, thieves, and juvenile delinquents, and the crimes they commit, and to discourage criminals from staying in NE. They want to make NE a no tolerance zone, where all our residents can again feel safe to go for a walk, shop our stores, visit our parks, raise a family, or just be outside.
People that are part of the NECP act as extra eyes and ears for the police, to spot criminals, to possibly interrupt criminals/vandals in the act and call 911.

It isn't a lapse on the part of the webmaster - the Minneapolis Police Department has decided to discontinue sending out crime statistics to neighborhoods. The information is still more or less available online at: http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/police/crime-statistics/codefor/
but it is not in a format which is simple to also post here.
If someone is interested in putting together a summary report in text format that I could post here it would be greatly appreciated.

Enforcements in the precinct during the week.
There have been nine smash and grab burglaries of Central Avenue
Businesses in the past 20 days. Most have occurred after midnight.
Loss has been small items or cash from registers.

Part One Crimes in the 2nd Precinct are down 31.37% this week when
compared to the same time period one year ago. Year to date, Part One
Crimes in the 2nd Precinct are up 21.90%. During the week there were
1,184 calls for service and 80 arrests. There were 143 traffic stops in
the Precinct.

Part One Crimes in the 2nd Precinct are up 1.72% this week when compared to the same time period one year ago. Year to date, Part One Crimes in the 2nd Precinct are up 22.80% During the week there were 1395 calls for service and 83 arrests.
*The Minneapolis Police Department has received information about a “Gypsy Style” group of 40 to 50 people who were committing Burglaries that are reportedly heading to the Metro Area from* *Colorado**.*
Members of the group say they work for American Community Services selling Magazine subscriptions. Some members of the group ask residents to let them into the house to write up the order at the kitchen table, get a glass of water or to use the bathroom. When they are in the house they “case” the residence for future burglary, or steal keys, purses or other small valuables as they leave.
Colorado Police had 23 related Burglaries over a three week period. The Burglaries occurred between 1:30am and 5:00am. All of the houses were occupied. Of two suspects identified in the Colorado incidents, one was a black male and the other a white male.
AMERICAN COMMUNITY SERVICES ALSO USES THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS ALIAS; TOTAL DEDICATION INC., OMNI-HORIZONS INC., DEDICATED TOO INC., ROUSSA W ENTERPRISE, SHIRLEY'S GLOBETROTTERS, UNIFIED GOLD KEY INC., AND UNIFIED PRODUCERS.
Current information indicates that this or similar groups have been observed IN Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park and Crystal within the last two weeks.
The groups are traveling throughout the U.S., staying in motels along inter-states, driving in large white vans. The groups are often transported to neighborhoods in these vans and dropped off to solicte magazine sales on foot.
Residents should use caution if approched by a door-to-door salesperson. Door-to- door selling requires a peddlers liscense. do not allow them into your home for any reason!

This week, the following case was posted for the Waite Park
Neighborhood. The trial was on April 21, but was continued to May 5th
because the owners attorney wants to challenge the state nuisance
statute that has already stood up to multiple challenges. The county
attorney's office contacted me to request that I pass on to you the
