Part One Crimes in the 2nd Precinct are up 10.96% this week when compared to the same time period one year ago. Year to date, Part One Crimes in the 2nd Precinct are up 13.73%. During the week there were 751 calls for service and 51 arrests.
Understanding Statistics
The Minneapolis Police Department generates statistics each week for its CODEFOR Meetings and monthly for these neighborhood summaries. These statistics use the same crime categories as the Uniform Crime Report Part I offenses, but are counted differently (see example below). We will call the statistics generated by the CODEFOR Unit the CODEFOR Statistics to distinguish them from the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) Statistics. We recalculate the previous year statistics each month to ensure the greatest accuracy. I send you the information which is available most weeks. Weeks when you have not received the summaries have been the result of me not receiving the information for various reasons. You may review the CODEFOR monthly summaries for each
