10th Annual Art-a-Whirl
10th Annual Art-A-Whirl - May 20, 21, & 22, 2005 - http://www.art-a-whirl.org/art-a-whirl.html.
Art-A-Whirl (AAW) is a self-guided tour of more than 400 artist studios, independently-owned galleries, and alternative-art spaces in the Northeast Arts District and surrounding areas. AAW is seeking volunteers to help make Art-A-Whirl 2005 a resounding success. Orientation sessions for AAW volunteers are scheduled for May 12th at 6:30 p.m. and May 14th at 9:30 a.m. at the California Building, 2205 California St. N.E. The orientation takes about 40 minutes. Volunteer opportunities include being a Building Greeter or helping out at Welcome Booths, the Silent Auction, or Survey Booths. If you'd like to help but can't attend an orientation session, contact 612-788-1679 or admin@nemaa.org.
Public art will be installed as a component of the Central Avenue reconstruction between 27th and 37th. A citizen task force has selected Foster Willey as the artist. You can see a rendition of Foster Willey's proposed artwork during Art-A-Whirl; stop by Columbia Grounds coffee shop on May 20, 21, or 22, and take a look.
