Nuisance Trial Update

This week, the following case was posted for the Waite Park
Neighborhood. The trial was on April 21, but was continued to May 5th
because the owners attorney wants to challenge the state nuisance
statute that has already stood up to multiple challenges. The county
attorney's office contacted me to request that I pass on to you the
information below, so you can write community impact statements on the
case.

The history at this property which lead to the Nuisance complaints is:
On February 6, 2004, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance call in
which a group of people were yelling in front of a house. Remarks were
that the caller believed the fifteen year old females were possibly
drunk. Enroute to the call dispatched advised that another caller
reported seeing a male with a gun out in front of a house. Officers
arrived and gained access to the house. Several guns were recovered and
several parties were booked at the address. On August 14, 2004,
officers booked one for providing alcohol to minors. On March 12, 2005,
Officers were dispatched to the above address on a party call. Officers
arrived and saw a juvenile come to the front door with a baggie full of
marijuana. Officers chased the juvenile to the basement of this house.
Officers found more marijuana and liquor as well as approx. 40
juveniles.
