The 3100 block of Polk St. NE will be presented with a Building Blocks award on Thursday, Feb 24, 7:00 PM at the 4th Precinct. I encourage you to attend the awards ceremony and help honor this group and its leader, Rose Anderson, 3144 Polk St. NE. Here is a very brief description of the group's activities: This block club has been active for many years. Activities in 2004 included a barbecue when a resident returned from overseas duty, a National Night Out event and participation in the Big Brush Off in Northeast Minneapolis. Graffiti was a big problem and the block club worked with neighboring blocks to remove it. Block club members are close to each other and work together.
